FAQ

  • Who do you work with?

My primary focus is amputees—both recent and long-time—who want to move with less pain and more freedom. I also work with adaptive athletes (including orthotic users or those recovering from injury) and, in some cases, mission-driven individuals who are chasing a big adventure. (I can’t say “no” to a big adventure!)

  • I’m early in my journey. Can I still work with you?

Yes. I’ve worked with people pre-amputation who wanted help preparing for the transition, as well as those just weeks after surgery. I’ve also helped people years down the road who feel stuck and want to break through pain or limitations. Wherever you are on the path, we’ll start there.

  • Is this just fitness training?

No. While physical training is a big piece of the process, this is not just about sets and reps. We tackle prosthetic frustrations, everyday hacks (sweat, blisters, liners), strength imbalances, and the mindset work that comes with setbacks. It’s holistic support designed for real life.

  • What if I'm not "athletic"?

You don’t need to be. Your goals set the pace. For one person, that might be running a marathon. For another, it’s walking pain-free with their kids. Both matter. We’ll design a plan that fits your body and your life.

  • How do we meet?

Most coaching is remote, so we can connect from anywhere. Weekly calls keep you on track, and I’m available for support between sessions. In-person sessions or expedition support may be possible on a case-by-case basis. (I love training in person if we can make it work!)

  • What if cost is a concern?

I price my services to be accessible—just above what you’d pay for a personal trainer, but with far more specialized support. The first consultation is free, so you can explore the fit before committing.

  • I’ve tried doctors, prosthetists, and physical therapy. How is this different?

Your medical team handles your health.
My role is helping you build capability — through strength training, movement practice, and real-world problem solving.
I help you take all the separate pieces of your journey and turn them into a path you can actually move forward on.

  • Does this address the mental side, too?

Yes. This isn’t optional—it’s part of the work. Building resilience, reframing setbacks, and tackling self-doubt are woven into every step, alongside the physical training.

  • What if I'm already doing "okay"?

Great—you don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. For many clients, “okay” isn’t enough. They want to chase something bigger, whether that’s pain-free travel, new strength goals, or a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
